	The REAL origin of the SNARK (to the best of my wee knowledge,
	admittedly), is the poem 'The Hunting of the Snark', written a
	long time before the 50's and before rockets by a man named
	Charles Dodgeson(sp?) ....

I guess that the most interesting thing about all this is that I
did acknowledge Lewis Carol's "Hunting the Snark" in my original
joke.

I guess my misteak was saying saying that the more recent version
was the "origin"

A question which another response brought to mind though is whether
they named the snark missile BEFORE or AFTER they tested it?
