A few years age, a number of us were sitting around a party at a sf convention at approximately 4:00am. Somehow the conversation got onto the subject of slogans and buttons in general when one of the people said that they had seen a button they thought was very funny in that it was so insulting it should offend a lot of people. The slogan was: NUKE THE WHALES. After thinking about it for a while, we decided that although it was fairly offensive, it wouldn't offend everyone. So we decided to come up with a slogan guaranteed to offend everybody. NUKE THE WHALES became: NUKE THE UNBORN WHALES NUKE THE UNBORN GAY WHALES and finally: NUKE THE UNBORN GAY WHALES FOR JESUS I t admit it's fun to see just how far that spot of midnight (well 4am) madness has gone. I would love to hear from anyone who was there.
