I am adding this as a footnote to my previous messages, before
supernatural wrath smothers me...

Of course, I have been one of the contributors to the Lispish
proliferation of features found in some Prolog systems. My comments
are motivated by the urgency of solving properly the problems those
features address before the features, whose alleged necessity was
more often than not justified on efficiency or space grounds, are
erected into a standard that will get in the way of future
implementations.
