Lines: 16 Some people here at the U. of Rochester are trying to kick this school into the modern era of electronic mail. Currently we have islands of semi- or un-communicating sites. As an example, if I want to send mail to our computer center, I have to mail it out via Arpanet to California where it gets gated to Bitnet and comes back. All that just to get across the street! The sites that we want to link have hardware as diverse as IBMs, HP-3000, CDC Cyber, VAXes, Dec-20s, Dec-10s, Suns, & PDP-11s. We are looking for examples. If your school (or even company) has a fairly integrated mail system, I would like to hear about it. Many thanks! -- = lee@rochester rochester!lee =
