This same theme is also seen in Dr. Strangelove. Throughout the second half of the film people are trying to stop technology (the bomber). In the end however the bomber gets through and technology triumphs (the "Doomsday device" destroys the world). There are several other themes in this movie, but the man versus technology aspect is definitely there.
