Lancer) and was a smooth, well-dressed, fast-talking private detective who epitomized all the private eye cliches and persisted in doing flamboyant things that should have gotten him killed or worse, but naturally he got all the clients and all the women and all the respect, which of course annoyed Jim Rockford to distraction.
