Most of the administrator types I've known (and I've known a few) have been broad minded and would not consider interfering with freedom of information. I see no reason whatsoever for the protracted debate about the pros and cons of a newsgroup for gays. Why not just call it net.gays? That way new users wouldn't have to decipher "motss" to find the group. I really am astounded by all the negative comments on the formation of such a group. When one considers the kind of esoteric groups that spring up from time to time on the net, it's probably about time there was a group for such a large population, anyway. As for the media, I think it's far more likely we'd be criticized for halting the formation of such a group than for forming it. Ben Leimkuhler (uiucdcs!uiuccsb!leimkuhl)
