Anybody out there that has built a Mirror Dingy sailboat? I bought mine about 3 years ago from somebody who had bought it as a kit in 1963. Only the hull was laced together. So far I have attached the major pieces. Not having ever built anything before, I am not sure how well it will stay together. Like will it fall apart the first time I throw it in Narragansett Bay. I would appreciate hearing anybodys experiences with small sailboat building. Mirror Dingy: A class of sail boat, probabily more popular in England. 12 feet in length. Mohagany plywood forms the outside. Real thin stuff. One mast that has a hinge half way up. Two burnt orange sails. Normally both rigged at the same time. Damned if I can remember the nautical terms despite my years in the Navy. Water tight compartments for sitting on make the boat impossible to sink. All seems get a layer of fiberglass. All joins of pieces of wood get waterproof glue and nails. Thanks -- Bob Mastors, Massachusetts Computer Corporation ...!{ucbcad,tektronix,harpo,decvax}!masscomp!bby
