Subj: Re: Soundtracks (Fellini) Ed Jilek recently requested information on several soundtracks. Sorry, that I can't help you with the soundtracks composed by John Barry, but I do know of an excellent album containing the music from several of Fellini's films. The album is called "Amacord Nino Rota" (I remember Nino Rota). It contains music written by Nino Rota for various Fellini films (Satyricon, 8 1/2, La Dolce Vita, etc.) The selections are performed by various jazz and pop musicians, Jackie Byard on solo piano, Carla Bley's band performs the theme to 8 1/2, a large ensemble containing Wynton and Branford Marsalis and I believe Herbie Hancock, Ron Carter and Tony Williams, etc. All of the music and performances are excellent as is the production. The album is on the Hannibal label and was released in late 1981. Look in the jazz section of you favorite record store.
