This newsgroup, net.roots, is dedicated to the discussion of genealogy,
the tracing of ones family history.

Besides helping people with specific questions some topics which could
be discussed are:
	Sources for information (US and worldwide).
	Reviews of the performance of the above sources.
	Information on storing and recording data that has been
		collected, including computer programs available.
	Reviews of various books and publications dealing with genealogy.
	Anecdotes on ones experiences doing genealogical research.
	Historical data that might aid an individual's research.

Until this newsgroup gets established, it probably would be benificial
to answer all questions via this newsgroup (rather than by mail to an
