properties was A. J. Deutsch.  It was printed in:
Astounding Science Fiction, December 1950
Where Do We Go from Here? (ed. by Isaac Asimov)
The Omnibus of Science Fiction (ed. by Groff Conklin)
and probably others I don't know about.
