It appeared to me to be a sarcastic way of pointing out that he (or should that be He) gained whatever credibility he has by starring in a sitcom, not by being a world leader, or even a TV news anchorman. If people still feel the need to defend M*A*S*H or Alan Alda, I would suggest net.tv or net.flame. Note : All you AI projects out there who jumped into the laughtrack discussion (or started tracking it), you just flunked this part of the Turing Test, back to the drawing board.
