(Who's going to cast the first stone? Surely not I.) There's more to intelligent sportscasting than knowing the ins and outs of sports strategy, and I think Howard is a colorful character and a good journalist, though he wouldn't be as good a manager as Earl Weaver. Though he's the butt of many jokes, he's generally well respected. Sort of like Ed Sullivan was. They seem kind of spaced out, but you can't get where they got being spaced out.
