there's one problem with the 'put the big boys against the big
boys' theory.  teams HAVE to play everyone in their conference.
yes, nebraska gets to play colorado, no matter what colorado wants.
it IS bad when nebraska plays northwestern etc.  i don't think
teams like nebraska really WANT to play nw.  i KNOW the fans don't
care much for it.  

i'm sure you've all heard me defend the big teams for high scores,
but i want to put out an official 'BOO HISSS' for nebraska.
apparently with seconds to go in the first half, nebraska was up
38-5, and they called timeout so they could try a mid-field bomb
to the end zone. (this took place against kansas state)
this apparently pissed of the ks team ("it looked like they wanted
to score 100 points" said a ks assistant coach), and they only
let nebraska run only 5 plays in the third quarter (as opposed to
48 points in the 3rd last week)  ks scored 3 unanswered touchdowns.
of course, nebraska couldn't win by a measly 38-25 score, so they
ripped off a few more touchdowns in the last minutes of the game
to win 51-25.  NOW, the question: since the game was almost close
(withen 13 points with a few minutes to go) can you get mad at
nebraska for trying the bomb touchdown???  a few different plays
in the last few minutes and we would have had the upset of the
season. (ks ranked 100th in offense!)


speaking of upsets, better keep an eye out for the ou-nebraska game.
nebraska seems to be getting a little burned out, ou is really picking
up.  by thanksgiving, it's gonna' be a hell of a game.  only one 
problem, if nebraska DOES get bumped, that leaves the queer-steers
from texass ranked number 1.
