In "The Changeling," Nomad modified the engines to travel at warp 11. Similarly, the Kelvans modified the Enterprise to travel at warp 11 in "By Any Other Name." Apparently these changes were never permanently installed. In "Is There in Truth No Beauty," the Enterprise went out of control at warp 9.5. I believe the Enterprise was out of control at warp 9 in "Day of the Dove" (although I'm not quite sure offhand -- triviasts please verify). Finally, the highest speed recorded for the Enterprise in the filmed shows was warp 14.1, in "That Which Survives." To go from the sublime to the ridiculous, the Enterprise was clocked at warp 22 in one of the animated episodes, "The Counter-Clock Incident."
