Most of the responses received (>50%) can be boiled down to the following: "You don't really want a terminal to do that, What you really want is a shell which lets you edit lines of history..." I ignored all such responses. If I had wanted such a shell, I would have asked for one. More to the point, I want to use this terminal for other operating systems than UNIX, such as CPM or HP's MPE ... (GASP, GASP !!) Of the responses that actually named terminals, I got the following votes: Apollo 1 TVI 970 1 Televideo 950 1 HP 262x or 264x 4 Teletype 5420 2 Teletype 5620 1 DEC PRO/350 1 DEC VT102 1 Write your own on a PC 2 Ann Arbor Ambassador 1 None of these terminals/micro's do all the things I requested, most do neither of the two special items I requested.
