The Almaden Winery *is* in San Jose (just).  It is in the Almaden
district to the South of the city.  As a relative newcomer myself
I can't say how long ago Almaden got swallowed up by San Jose.

Also in San Jose are Mirassou (which was mentioned) on Aborn Road,
and Turgeon and Lohr on Lenzen Ave. downtown. 

In the vicinity are Paul Masson almost next door to my office
