I read an article in the Toronto Globe and Mail over the summer chronicling the ways "Crimes of Passion" were treated in Latin America. As I recall, men who killed their wives and sweet-hearts, in cold blood, routinely receive very light sentences, suspended sentences, in some Latin American countries. Of course, women who kill their husbands can expect to have the book thrown at them. Cordially, Geo Swan, Integrated Studies, University of Waterloo (allegra||ihnp4)!watmath!watarts!geo
