I very often start business letters with the word

   Greetings:

which provides a sort of business formality, looks a lot like the
"Gentlemen:" which the old-fashioned textbooks recommend, and has
no sex implication built into it.  I suppose it might remind some
people of a draft notice, but that's the only drawback I can think of.
