On the other hand, my '79 Honda is rated at 68HP and has LOTSA power! I suspect that the emission control is responsible for stifling the Toyota. I increased the timing from 5 deg to 15 deg with little improvement. Perhaps the emmission computer simply compensates by increasing the vacuum retard line and decreasing the vacuum advance. Does anyone have any experience with this? Is there anything I can easily do to get more power. (I don't want headers, bigger carbs, manifolds, etc....just adjustments or bypasses) By the way, another disappointment is that I only get 18 - 20 MPG. Seems like it ought to be about 24 - 25. Any suggestions? Bob (wish Honda made a 4X4) Subject: Toyota 4X4 with insufficient Power Newsgroups: net.auto My '83 Toyota 4X4 is rated at 100 HP but hasn't got the guts to get out of its own way.
