My 1982 toyota truck (4sp,bias ply,short bed,2wd) gets 22/29 city/hiwy.
It has plenty of peak power, but no low end torque. It can't pull from
a roll in 2nd gear without lots of clutch slip.
It is a tough little truck, and thank god its not unibody!
