	I find Twain's short stories much more entertaining than his novels.
He seems to hit his best pace in the shorter works. Many of his novels sim-
ply drag. However, I do consider him one of the best of (if not the best of)
American writers. And then, maybe I'm predjudiced because I grew up in a small
town about sixty miles away from Hannibal, Mo.
