The Federal Drug & Food (FDA) has for many years approved Al compounds in Drugs. 1. Aluminum Hydroxide (AlOH) as one of two main actives in Antacids (the other being Magnesium Hydroxide). This compound has for over 20 years 2. Aluminum Chlorohyrate (in some cases combined with Zirconium) is the most effective antiperspirant active. This compound is considered a drug since it prevents (they say) perspiration, a normal body action. Its important since during application in aersol form (especially within a small confined area, i.e. a bathroom, a small portion of the application is inhaled and enters the lungs. I would be interested in hearing other information as to whether just Al in raw form is harmful and/or in any other form of compounds.
