(I figured this discussion had gone on long enough with a "potatoes" title.)

Apparently Toshiba makes a LOT of microwave ovens.  I would not be
surprised at all if the Monkey Wards was one -- the large mail order
retailers always buy someone elses product and put their own name on it.
The Sears compact cube refrigerator is a Sanyo, for example.  (At least,
it looks identical).  A salesman once told me that Toshiba makes 80% of
the Magnetron tubes used in microwave ovens.
