It's time for a little lesson in common courtesy from ol' uncle murphy. Do you remember when you and little Jimmy were playing with his erector set on the porch (for some newsnetters, this may have been as recent as last week), and he said "my thing is better than yours!!" and you said "no it's not!" and he said "yes it is!", etc., etc., until you finally lost your little cool and called him a DOO-DOO. Remember how good it felt, calling him a DOO-DOO? Do you also remember that at that point Jimmy picked up his erector set and went home, and you didn't see him again for a long, long time? In case you don't see the point, logical and rational discussion is tough enough for a lot of us even without the considerable burden of open display of emotional (and irrational) vitriol. Personal attacks, bad language, etc., will do much to undermine your credibility as a rational and constructive thinker, with the end result that adults will not take you seriously. I advise all concerned to note net.news, where mention is made of management eliminating much of netnews due to so-called abuses--in other words, if you don't behave, DADDY will take away your erector set. Before posting something to a newsgroup, stop for a minute and honestly ask yourself if what you're saying is really rational, constructive, and polite. Remember, DADDY just might be listening from behind the rumpus room door. Rich Ganns hou2a!murphy
