To those who, in the open-minded manner, arrive at conclusions surprising similar to the conventional wisdom at the Kremlin, Are you trying to imply that this similarity should not be surprising? Are you trying to imply that the critics in question really want the Soviet Union's political and military goals to be achieved? If not, you should not use phrasing like this; if so, you should come out and say it. I ask: To what extent, would you estimate, does your publicized hatred of the USA assist in the goals and aspirations of all members of the CCCP? Or, perhaps we should back-up one step and ask: Does it worry you that you sound like a Kremlin bureaucrat when you liken Grenada with Afghanistan, when you recommend subscribing to a Socialist rag, when you defame the institutions of the USA? 1) "Publicised hatred of the USA"? I fail to see how opposition to one specific act of the US armed forces is equivalent to "publicised hatred of the USA". This argument has been used many, many times in the past and it doesn't improve with age. 2) I don't see any evidence that opposition to the invasion of Grenada assists in the goals and aspirations of all members of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, except by coincidence. Opposition to invasion of foreign countries by force hardly assists in those goals and aspirations, considering the USSR's frequent use of such such invasion to achieve those goals. 3) Kremlin bureaucrats to not liken Grenada to Afghanistan, for reasons which should be obvious. I don't know what you are referring to when you speak of "subscribing to a Socialist rag". State what magazine you are referring to, so we can discuss whether it is a "Socialist rag" or not. If recommending certain magazines makes one a supporter of the U.S.S.R., it seems that free speech is not something to value. 4) As for "defaming the institutions of the USA", see 1) above. There are certain institutions that *deserve* defaming; the FBI under J. Edgar Hoover, for one. It doesn't require you change your registration to Republican to realize the only opposition to the Soviet way of life is the American. And your right of vocal complaint and bitterness toward your own Government is obtained from that opposition. So kindly be aware of this opposition and note well who bought the rope you are hanging yourself with. I know of no evidence whatsoever that debate over this nation's actions will result in the Russkies being on the beaches tomorrow. Arguments that imply that people who oppose some of our country's actions are merely giving aid and comfort to the enemy, and that they should perhaps just shut up, do not give me the feeling that the person making those arguments really understands the point of a democracy.
