Motivations mean diddly to the dead in El Salvador. However, I think that conservatism is not "middle-of-the-fact-ims." It is more "middle-of-my-fact-ism," which is a totally different thing. And it's not clear to me that the motivations of the U.S. are, at the heart, all that much different than those of the U.S.S.R. We have recently witnesed our country engaging in aggresive expansionism (opps -- sorry, defense of our hemisphere). Most staunch conservatives can not admit that we are impinging on the rights of people in several other countries. I don't know how much more factual you can get. And last -- my views aren't liberal. They're mine. Which means I can be as conservative as I wish when I think it's right as as liberal as I wish when I think it's right. Dirk "why am I not writing my paper?"
