Yes, well my personal favorite for a dumb error message comes from
the UNIX linker:
   
              bad magic number
  
That's all it says....but what can you expect from UNIX, which rhymes 
with eunuchs. Which brings to mind my fractured definition:
    
UNIX -- a castrated operating system developed and marketed unsuccessfully
         by an obscure little telecommuncations company in the late 
         20th century...
