Not to get pedantic here, but net.jokes is an *array* of jokes, right?
So, in C, just "net.jokes" is a pointer to a joke, unless you're being
literal about those quotes, in which case it's a pointer to a character.
The character 'n'.  A dubious character, which you should type right now.
It's of type char, presumably from being flamed about too many times.
