before i discuss the topic of jokes, let me state my position.  i like ALL
types of humor.  ethnic, dirty, anit-climax, you name it.  i see jokes
as plain ol' fun.  nothing more.  but when i see an attitude of jokes
like this i begin to wonder...

probably the best piece of hypocrisy i've seen since i last attended
a baptist church service.  dont' get me wrong, i listen/tell/enjoy all 
the catagories above.  but is there a reason you don't like leper jokes, but 
do like dead baby jokes??  is there some reason i've missed that makes
it OK to talk about the dead, but not helen keller?? (she's dead, i believe)
does this equate to saying you can make fun of dead people if they
die at an earlier age??

maybe it's this, laura.  maybe for some reason (whatever it may be)
you can sympathize with lepers, Helen, and gays (NO, i'm not suggesting
you are a gay leper with no hearing or vision), but can't sympathize
with dead babies.  this would lead me to assume you have no children.
i've found very few mothers who like dead baby jokes.  maybe it would
be a very cruel but ironically fitting justice if you have a child;
it's cute, adorable (you know how kids are when they're just learning
to walk), and he toddles out under a moving truck.  THEN you will
probably see dead baby jokes in a different light, and you can hate
ALL the above jokes.

NO, i'm not putting a deathwish on small children.  i love kids, 
kids love me; mom, apple pie, baseball etc.  i just can't see not 
liking leper jokes, but 'ok-ing' dead baby jokes.  what make 
one good, one bad??  in one case you have a leper suffering, in
the other you have a family(at least a mother) suffering.
