I've seen this attributed to some president of Harvard. He was being
introduced as a speaker and during the introduction Harvard was referred
to as "a storehouse of knowledge". When his turn came he remarked that
if this was so, it was because the freshmen brought so much knowledge in
and the seniors took so little out.
