I have heard of two particularly good thoughts concerning humor. One, by
E.B.White who compared the analysis of humor to dissecting a frog; that is,
it can be done, but the frog tends to die in the process.

The other quote was: what is truly funny or humorous is that which is totally
unexpected and totally logical.

The only problem is, I don't know who said the second one. Does anyone know?
