I imagine that those of you who "don't know whether Dorothy
Parker exists", and are wondering who the hell she is,
are being held at gunpoint and prevented from doing research
in any library with more than a few 1000 volumes.
Your assailant is also preventing you from getting at any
biographical encylopedia, as well as many other standard
reference works.
Since you are under such great duress (what other excuse could you
have, laziness?), I suggest you use the net to call the police
for help.
