She was in Berlin in the late 30's, but was thrown out of the country by Goebbels because of her acid writing concerning Adolph. She was also known for her ability to make friends with almost every head of government at that time. She was welcomed into the highest circles even though she would often latter put many of these people down. A sort of very early Rickles. Her wit was legendary. I don't have any of her books titles at hand, however, you can read about her escapades in Berlin in "BERLIN DIARY" by William Shirrer (sp again). Parker's character was portrayed in a number of movies, all of which escape my mind right now. I believe Kate Hepburn played her character in at least one film from the 50's. A trip down to the local library should bring a wealth of information about Parker, a truely interesting character from that period. T. C Wheeler
