You know, I kind of have the same problem.  My Freedom 100 terminal has all
these lovely, lovely function keys, but every doggon one of them gives out
the characters ^A,(something unique for that key),CR.

Now that's nice and consistent and all -- but do you KNOW what Ctrl-A does
in BASIC?  Yeah, repeats the last command.  Guaranteed to bring you down
in a hurry.  Any suggestions on how to trap those character sequences
emitted by a Freedom 100 control key in Microsoft BASIC, weed out the
Ctrl-A, and use the rest?  (I don't know how to burn PROMS either, and
don't particularly want to replace chips in the terminal unless someone
has a good reason why.)
