And for those of you who seem to find the notion of the Dead Kennedys
disturbing, consider the fact that their lead vocalist, Jello Biafra,
ran for mayor of San Francisco and garnered several thousand votes, placing
third ahead of the official gay candidate.  I still recall his equal-time
radio spots promising municipal government for "all people: rich and poor,
young and old, black and white, sane and insane".
