Pro: * One of the highest, so the snow is usually pretty good. * Closest decent ski area to Denver, about 60 miles west, just above the Eisenhower Tunnel in fact. * Runs range from simple to expert, lots of choices and variety. * Medium cost -- $16/13 (weekend/weekday) this year. * No condos, etc. nearby so it's usually not as crowded as, say, Winter Park (the Disneyland of ski areas). Con: * No lodging nearby; you have to drive a ways east or west to stay the night. * Often cold and windy on the uppermost (exposed) slopes. Anyone else have opinions on the area? By the way, the local paper puts out a Colorado ski summary each year, including lift ticket prices, number of lifts, elevations, acres, dates, etc. Anyone want it? If I get, say, five responses (by mail, please), I'll type it all in.
