David Bowie's "Major Tom" (actually "Space Oddity") was made long
long before "The Man Who Fell To Earth" and has nothing to do with it.

The current song "Major Tom" appears to be at the least a plagiarism of
the idea of "Space Oddity" .  Although the words and music are different,
the theme is identical and there are striking similarities in the
orchestration.
