According to Linda Ellerbee on tonight's OVERNIGHT, NBC brass had a
special meeting to cover the unexpected deluge of mail from angry
OVERNIGHT viewers.  It seems that NBC was surprised that anyone watches
the show at all; the statistics certainly are not good enough to
convince the advertisers.  To paraphrase the word from Grant Tinker,
NBC is amazed at the loyalty of OVERNIGHT's following but they still
think that it just isn't big enough.

Sorry gang.  It was great while it lasted.

OVERNIGHT will have a special going away show next week Friday, 12/2
(actually Saturday morning at 2 AM).  If you are a fan of the show, or
even if you only tuned in once or twice and were tickled by it, don't
miss it!

Things like this make me glad I don't own a TV,
