Bobby's mommy was Sybil (sp?). She and Cliff had a fling when Nina broke
the engagement, thinking she (Nina) was going blind. Sybil was shot by
Shawn (Tom's brother) and died (she knew too much about Shawn). Cliff then
took permanent custody and Nina adopted him (after they were married).

Reading this, I see that AMC is also weird. Oh well.
