Note that there are two flavors of Dataproducts interfaces, the
'Vanilla', capable of going a "short" distance (100ft?), and the
'long-lines' flavor, capable of going a greater distance (1000ft?).

the Xerox 2700 uses the 'Vanilla' flavor dataproducts interface, so if you 
desire a longer cable, count on spending about $500 on a box at the printer
end to convert between the cable and 2700.
