has anyone modified [Mm]ail to use better locking mechanisms then the
defaults (temp.  file on same file system w/links)?  I would like to
move the mail files from /usr/spool/mail to the user's home directory.
I have exclusive open (bit 04 in open(2)).  This is a problem because
it must run on 11/44s (I thought about porting 4.2 flock, but I don't
have the time).
