I remember that at Polytechnic Institute of New York, they had
an addition to write where one could  use write in the following
format:

write user-name - ' message text '

and the message would be sent to the appropriateplace.

It was used quite frequently.  It obviously isn't what you mentioned
but it will do the same job.  Contact them about it since I have currently
lost touch with them.

If they are not on the net, you can try 212-643-8484 and ask to speak
to systems.  If you do call them, find out when they are getting on
the net since I would like to resume contact via electronic mail.
