Wonderful. Evil. "The Land of Laughs", by Jonathan Carroll, is about a man who wants to write a biography of Marshall France, an invented children's author on the order of L. Frank Baum or Maurice Sendak. This book is about children's fantasy. It starts out "straight", and becomes a fantasy horror story; but in a way that is very original. I found it in the Science Fiction area. Read it. Lance Norskog Fortune Systems megatest!fortune!norskog hpda!fortune!norskog harpo!... sri-unix!... amd70!... p.s.
