I have found that the use of @ is remarkably effective in dealing with this most of the times. That is, I use a line like: amd70 Any ACU 1200 1234567 "" @ ogin:-@-ogin: uucp sword: word The "" says expect nothing and immediately send the @ followed by a carriage return. However, this week I ran across two systems that apparently change the default line kill character to something else. The best solution I have found is this (\d means delay, \r return): amd70 Any ACU 1200 1234567 "" \r gin: \r\d\r gin: uucp sword: word Which makes it go through a login: password: cycle (or two) before doing it for real. This does take longer and I'd like to appeal to system administrators to keep @ the default line kill character for login. Comments are welcome. -- Phil Ngai (408) 988-7777 {ucbvax|decwrl|ihnp4|allegra}!amd70!phil
