Mr. Eastlake neglects to mention the strongly Irish character of Boston
politics in this century, which might have some influence on why a city
should celebrate the departure of occupying British troops.  I'm sure the
date of the holiday is of no significance either. (What, you didn't know
Evacuation Day falls on March 17?)
