Rodale is a long-time promoter of organic gardening, and in addition to the publications you mention, puts out quite a few books. His ideas are sound, even though some people tend to make a religion out of them. As far as any of his publications being schoarly journals, what's to be scholarly about gardening? I'd say that if Rodale still has any say in RAA, it's OK. If he doesn't, you're on your own. When you know more, it would be nice if you posted a follow-up. (Not net.followup).
