On a PDP-11/70 I used many years ago under RSTS/E, we also got the message 'Not war?' in response to 'make love.' In this case, it WAS teco that produced the response - the file [1,2]teco.tec contained a teco program that interpreted user commands, and it had that message in it. Under RSTS/E, teco had its own run-time-system, so you could put teco commands into a file, make the file extension '.tec' then just 'run' the file! i.e., the file test.tec contains ^A this is a test ^A$$ and you say run test you would get the message 'this is a test!'
