Is this not the place for political humor?  I would have thought that
most of the humor in this group is political, having seen items like
BLKTRAN, gay jokes, Mexican jokes, girlie jokes, dead marine jokes,
etc.

I'm sorry if "friendly autocrat" jokes hit too close to home, but after
working against Military Aid to El Salvador for the past several years,
only to see it rise every year, and now to see how close we are to
full-scale "pacification," its either laugh or cry.

Somoza (during education conference in Costa Rica):
  "I don't want educated peasants, I want Oxen."

D'Aubuisson (to German Reporter):
  "You Germans are smart; you realized that the Jews were responsible
for the spread of Communism, so you killed them."
