Our Basic7 compiler, upon encountering a semi-colon at the end of the line, comes back with: This is Basic, not PL/I!! (Or words to that effect, I have not used Basic7 in awhile.) Our new screen editting system used to die and print out the following error message: Data potato, du wop du wop! One day a very irate english professor called and complained about this error, saying that we should not take such errors so lightly. I sort of thought it better than just having the screen blank out.... -- David C.
